Jeff's Scary Cheesecake

Here's my "Scary Cheesecake" which debuted at last night's Halloween Party.
All made from scratch, with chocolate sprinkles... Those who tried it claimed to like it, and there wasn't even a crumb left.

Missing Mikel....

We are so sad that Mikel died on Friday. He was such a blessing for our family. Together with Phyllis he has brought so many fun and interesting things--from ham radio, to guitars, ukeleles, Wood-Ranch rendevous, good-natured dogs, many different comptuer games, Palm-pilots and gadgetry, plus a little conservative politics thrown in for spice, etc, etc.! He is now with Ralph and will carry on the great Frasier traditions in the next world. I often feel that Ralph has been involved in supporting our family from the other side of the veil and Mikel will too, if he isn't kept too busy doing other things...
All our love and support to Phyllis, Melanie, David and grandkids...

Robyn Has Been Gone All Week

We're glad to have Robyn back. She spent the week at Stanford, where Mikel has been critically ill after a heart transplant. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mikel and Phyllis daily and hourly during this difficult time.

Check out my new blog "Right On Point"

I have decided to start a new blog for my postulations on politics, policy, propositions and peculation.

I'm trying to get it a little publicity so you'd do me a big favor by posting it on your bloglists. Here's the link: www.right-on-point.blogspot.com

By starting new blog on these ramblings I can keep this fun Ffej Nosnibor blog for private family doings.
Let me know what you think. Here are some photos from our spring Boston trip, because Robyn is looking forward to her upcoming trip to visit D-Nugget and the Kambridge Krew.

Robyn's Quick Trip To Utah For Two Weddings

Robyn had a great time visiting family in Utah over the Oct. 3-5 weekend, attending the weddings of Uncle Lew & Penny and Niece Heidi & Kevin. She enjoyed spending time with Austin and Rachel also.

Protect Marriage, Protect Children, Yes on Prop 8

I recommend a "yes" vote on Proposition 8 for the following reasons:

1. When possible, children deserve a mother and father as parents. One of each, not two of either. How will a little girl learn about mothering with no mom? How will a little boy learn how to treat his wife without a father to show him? Other alternatives are not as good. Our society should be encouraging mother-father family units, not promoting alternatives.
2. The desire of two adults of the same gender to have an intimate sexual relationship should not trump the rights of children to a mother and father. I don't see how one can look a toddler in the eyes and say, "the law does not allow you to have a mother. You will not be allowed to have a mother because two people want to be your father." The child has needs beyond those of the parents.
3.
Gender should not be removed from marriage. "Same-sex" marriage by definition takes the man and woman from marriage and replaces two identical entities. Marriage certificates should not read, as they do now, "Party A" and "Party B." The reason gender-sterile terms are used is that we do not have a name for genderless marriage partners.
4. It is a difficult and challenging issue. I mean no offense or disrespect to those who feel otherwise. Nor do I doubt the genuine love and parenting effectiveness of same-gender couples who are raising children, which may in many cases be better than single-parent situations or dysfunctional-marriage situations.
